Execution (step by step)

Stand next to a cable station at the low pulley position. Hold the handle with your far hand.

Keep a slight bend in your elbow, arm alongside your body.

Lift your arm sideways up to shoulder height -- not higher.

The cable provides constant tension throughout the entire movement, better than dumbbells.

Lower slowly and avoid a jerk or swinging motion.

Stand slightly away from the cable station so the cable always has tension.
